Ian est un surfeur tout terrain qui voyage ou personne ne voyage!C'est le Mike Horn du surf!
When and where did you arrive on earth?
I am from Jersey, Channel Islands (a 9miles long by 5 miles wide island, just off the coast of France) and arrived there 33 years ago.

Could you describe you in few words?
Just someone who enjoys surfing, getting barreled and seeing new waves, places, people and cultures.

When did you discover surfing?
I first discovered surfing when I was 11. A friend who I used to skateboard with, his older brother took us down the beach to surf one day. After that I was hooked.

You travel a lot! Now you are in Iceland! Is it a good trip?
I try to travel/be away from Jersey as much as I can. The waves are so busy and bad here that if you didn't laugh you would cry. You arent going to get perfect waves everyday in
Iceland, and may even be waiting for weeks at at a time, but I enjoy Iceland for the solitude, being able to camp out, surfing waves with just you and your friends. In and out the water, it is a
beautiful, alive and crazy place.

What is
your best souvenir when travelling ?
Maybe the favourite or snapped magic boards I have kept from over the years. The memories and good times that come back from
each one when you check them out - from different countries, waves, experiences and people met along the way.

Do you skate practice skateboarding?
I used to skateboard all the time. The last ten years or so I have laid off it. I
was getting too many injuries that were cutting down on my surf time.
Island Slalom Tour is a series of skateboarding contests on tiny french islands where
nobody has ever skated! We are as Captain cook at Hawaii in 1600! Except we have now motor boats and concrete roads... What do you think about this?
I think it is good. It is good to explore, see new places, terrain and do it
whilst doing something you enjoy.

What is your biggest Wipe Out?
For sure that would be at the bar haha. Otherwise skateboarding, hanging onto the
back of my friends car on the road. After going so fast I couldnt let go, and hoping he would slow down......the next thing I remember is being woken up in an ambulance with alot of my face
missing.

How would you define a good session ?
A good session is when you come out stoked......whether its windy sloppy
conditions or perfect waves. Even if you just get one wave, id say thats a good session and all worthwhile. It can just take one fun wave and you are stoked.

What are your project for 2012 ?
For 2012 I plan to continue life on the road, surfing, no doubt a good stint of time back in Indo.....I dont plan to far ahead,
just take each day as it comes... and at the same time running an online store, www.lunasurf.com, a friend and I from Jersey just recently launched that a few months ago.
We are also making our own brand Lunasurf tail pads,
leashes and other surfing accessories so that is an interesting side project.
I would really like to go back and camp out in Canada again. You can see more from that trip/wave here, with friend and Lunasurf team rider Timmy Turner for his upcoming movie 'Cold Thoughts' -
